BSF, Jammu Police Seize Heroin Packets Dropped by Pakistani Drone near Indo-Pak Border in Suchetgarh

R.S. Pura, Jammu (India): Police claimed that, along with the Border Security Force (BSF), they have successfully recovered a drone-dropped narcotics consignment along the International Border in the Suchetgarh sector of R.S. Pura in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning.

“A Pakistani drone reportedly dropped two packets of narcotic consignment (heroin) across the International Border at village Korotana in the Suchetgarh sector,” police sources said, following a joint search operation carried out by BSF troops and police personnel in the border village.

The BSF seized the narcotics packets for investigation. J&K Police’s SP Headquarters Irshad Rather, accompanied by other police officers, also rushed to the spot.

Searches in the area continued, although no one was taken into custody. However, police and intelligence agencies have kept an eye on possible cross-border smugglers in the area.

On October 27, 2025, security forces had also seized approximately 5 kg of heroin consignment dropped by a drone from Pakistan at the same village in Suchetgarh of R.S. Pura.

On February 13, 2026, Kathua police also claimed that they had arrested two individuals involved in receiving cross-border narcotics consignments that were also drone-dropped from Pakistan.

Meanwhile, police in the Jammu region have launched an investigation into the incidents along with central security agencies.DD
