Jammu: Police today claimed to have arrested a person allegedly involved in the kidnapping and sexual assault of a minor girl in Bishnah.
According to the information, special police teams were constituted and swift action was initiated using both technical evidence and human intelligence inputs following a complaint lodged at Police Station Bishnah.
In the coordinated operation, the alleged suspect, Arjun Lakhotra (27), son of late Rashpaul Kumar and a resident of Dinday Khurd, Bishnah, was apprehended.
Meanwhile, the victim has been safely recovered and provided necessary medical assistance and support as per legal protocol. Further investigation into the case is underway. Scientific evidence is being collected and all legal formalities are being completed. Legal proceedings against the accused have been initiated as per law.
A case in this regard has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act against the accused. Further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.DD
