Alert sounded across Jammu after terrorists’ attack Army vehicle in J&K’s Akhnoor ‘Massive manhunt launched to nab attackers’

Jammu, Oct 28 (TDD): An alert has been sounded across Jammu, following a terrorist attack on an army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir’s Akhnoor area, today morning hours.However, no casualties or injuries were reported in the incident. As per the initial reports, the terrorists attacked a military vehicle (ambulance) in the Jogwan area near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor Tehsil. Soon after the incident, a massive search operation was launched in the area with the deployment of additional armed forces whereas the local police have strengthened naka checking across Jammu.They told the Diplomat that the search operation was intensified by the security forces to trace out the terrorists who escaped after carrying out the attack.However, the unconfirmed reports stated the exchange of fire between the terrorists, and the security forces.“The civil administration has directed its magistrates to coordinate with the local police in their respective areas to avoid any law-and-order situation,” the official sources said.Earlier too, the border districts, including Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Poonch, and Rajouri after recent Ganderbal and Baramulla attacks in Kashmir.The alert was sounded and a meeting was chaired by Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Anand Jain with district SSPs.
