Three Army jawans injured in Keshwan encounter

Kishtwar:TDD, At least three Indian Army soldiers have suffered injuries in the ongoing encounter at Keshwan forests in Kishtwar.
Although the officials are tight lipped, the sources quoting reports said that three soldiers, who sustained injuries, in the gun battle that started between the terrorists and the Indian army at Keshwan.
The army had launched a search operation that came under fire from the Pakistani terrorists, believed to be three to four in numbers. The additional deployment has been made on the area, and the injured troops have been evacuated to the hospital.
The police and army believe that these terrorists were responsible for the kidnapping and brutal killing of two Village Defence Group (VDGs). The anti-terror operation is still in progress and the security forces have cordened the entire forest area.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army has stated that on 10 Nov 24, based on specific intelligence input regarding the presence of terrorists, a joint Operation was launched by Security forces in general area Bhart Ridge in Kishtwar.
“This is the same group which had abducted and killed 02 innocent villagers (village defence guards) in Kishtwar region two days back. Contact was established and fire – fights ensued, ” the army added. The operation is in progress.
Meanwhile, the security grid has been tightened in Kishtwar.TDD
