Kishtwar, TDD,District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar, Shri Rajesh Kumar Shavan (JKAS), visited Model Panchayat Sigdi B1 in Block Mughal Maidan to preside over a Public Interaction camp and reviewed progress on key indicators.
Pertinent to mention that Panchayat Sigdi B1 is one among the 13 designated Model Panchayats selected one Panchayat per block of district Kishtwar and identified by DC Kishtwar with an aim to saturate 78 key indicators as a part of his initiative to enhance developmental standards across the district.
During the review at Sigdi B1 , the DC Kishtwar emphasized implementing various government schemes, such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin (SBM-G), Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), health initiatives, and social programs for the overall welfare and progress of all the sections of local communities.
Moreover, DC Kishtwar further assessed the status of these schemes in the Panchayat and highlighted the importance of extensive greenery through plantation and land identification, stressing environmental conservation.
During his address, DC Kishtwar also said that our priority will be to make this panchayat 100 percent solar light panchayat in the district .
He interacted with the Village Monitoring Committee, local residents, and ex-PRI members, focusing on saturating all indicators, addressing community concerns, and offering immediate solutions.
He also urged the Village Monitoring Committee to actively collaborate with departments to address gaps in Panchayat development.
Special attention was also given to cleanliness initiatives, polythene-free campaigns, door-to-door waste collection under SBM and the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan among youth in the panchayat.
DC Kishtwar emphasized community involvement in fostering a healthy environment and preventing substance abuse.
In response to local health needs, the concerned departments were directed to organize awareness cum public service deliverance camps for Panchayat residents at their door step.
He also highlighted the importance of regular visit and dedicated on-ground involvement by all officers and officials to ensure the effective implementation of developmental programs and address the community’s needs comprehensively.
