Final Call for Pensioners’ Physical Verification: Last Date Extended till November 30

The Diplomat Desk

Srinagar, (TDD): The physical verification of pensioners and family pensioners, along with the digitization of pension data, has been ongoing since July this year and the last date has been extended upto November 30 now.

Initially set to conclude by September 30, the verification period was extended to October 30 to facilitate those who had yet to complete the process.

To support elderly and ailing pensioners, a home visit option was provided, enabling treasury staff to conduct 7,000 verifications at pensioners’ residences. Additionally, pensioners residing outside Jammu and Kashmir could complete verification through a video-based system.

So far, around 2.28 lakh pensioners, out of a total of 2.43 lakh, have successfully completed the verification. Despite multiple extensions and facilities, about 15,000 pensioners remain unverified.

As a final opportunity, the deadline for verification has now been extended to November 30, 2024. Treasury officers will issue written notices to remaining pensioners. Failure to complete verification by the new deadline will result in the suspension of pension disbursements.—(TDD)
