Jammu, TDD ,In a significant achievement, the Department of Agriculture, Jammu, was awarded the 2nd Prize in the Public Sector Category for its outstanding display of the KKG Stall at the closing ceremony of the National Agriculture Summit and Farmer Fair held today. The event was graced by Shri Gulam Ali Khatana, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, who was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony.
The event, organized at SKUAST-Jammu, brought together prominent agricultural experts and farmers from across the Jammu region to discuss innovations and solutions for enhancing agricultural productivity. The fair provided a valuable platform for farmers and agricultural professionals to showcase cutting-edge technology, farming practices, and agricultural products.
The KKG Stall, meticulously designed by the Department of Agriculture, highlighted a range of initiatives, technologies, and innovations aimed at providing farmers with essential services and information to improve their farming practices. Kisan Khidmat Ghar (KKG) serves as a one-stop solution for agriculture and allied sectors, offering a comprehensive range of services to farmers at the Panchayat level. The stall garnered attention for its detailed display of advanced techniques and practical solutions tailored to the farming community.
Director Agriculture Jammu, Shri Arvinder Singh Reen, stated on the occasion that this award highlights the significant role that the Department of Agriculture is playing in bridging the gap between research, education, and practical solutions for farmers. The recognition underscores the Department’s commitment to empowering farmers with the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in modern agriculture.
