The Diplomat Desk
Jammu:TDD, Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha Jammu Kashmir Province President Purushottam Dadhichi has taken cognizance of the fact that the education department of the Jammu Kashmir government has issued a notification for 575 lecturer posts. Out of these 575 posts for selection by the PSC, no post has been advertised for Sanskrit, Hindi, Philosophy and only three for Dogri and one for Punjabi. Considering the dominance of these languages in the Jammu region, the education department should have notified posts for these subjects as well. It is not that the education department does not have vacancies. There are posts for all these subjects. If I talk only about philosophy, 28 posts are lying vacant but they have not notified.
As far as Sanskrit is concerned, Sanskrit is the oldest language in the whole world. Crores of people speak, write and read it not only in India but in the whole world. Due to not notifying the vacant posts, the morale of students and researchers is low. If we talk about Sanskrit, the ancient texts of this country are in Sanskrit, the people required for their study will not be available and this is a direct insult to the Sanatan life values, which was done by the Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir.
Sanatan Dharm Sabha has extended its support to the agitation led by Ramnik Sharma of Sanskrit scholars and students in Jammu and Kashmir. The agitation stems from the recent referral of posts to the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission, which glaringly omitted Sanskrit subject posts. The Sabha has joined forces with the protesting scholars and students, amplifying their demands for the inclusion of 50 Sanskrit subject posts. By backing this cause, Sanatan Dharm Sabha aims to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Sanskrit, which is an integral part of Jammu Kashmir
While talking to journalists, he said that the state government has taken control of many Sanatan Devasthans and temples. This practice is not right and should be stopped. The Sanatan Devasthan Math Temples which have been taken over by the government should be returned to the Sanatan society. He said that not a single shrine or temple belongs to any other community which has been taken over by the government. Shri Sanatan Dharma Sabha has repeatedly demanded that a Sanatan Board be formed to take care of the Sanatan Devasthans, religious places and temples. But the government has not shown any concern in this regard nor has any step been taken. Offerings are made in temples and Devasthans on behalf of the Sanatan society, while the benefits are given to non-Sanatan people.
As far as Sanatan Samaj is concerned, there is no support from the government for solving the problems of Sanatan Samaj. Wherever Sanatan Samaj tries to protect its Sanatan life values, instead of support from the government and administration, the society itself is harassed. Recently, a minor girl was kidnapped and raped in Padar and the people who raised this issue and due to which those who committed this incest were caught. Today, the government is trying to take police action against such people by making it a question of its false prestige. Even arrangements have been made to lodge FIRs against such youths who had expressed anger The head of the Sanatan Dharma Sabha demanded that the education department and the government should immediately rectify their notifications and make improvements in them and notify all the vacancies for lecturers in Sanskrit, Hindi, Philosophy, Punjabi, Dogri and Physical Education so that recruitment can be done against them. Secondly, a ‘Sanatan Board’ should be formed to take care of the Sanatan temples and wherever the Sanatan society tries to protect its life values, the government should come forward and support it and not harass the youth of such society who are engaged in cow protection and religion protection.TDD
