Slogan writing Competition, Cleanliness Drive on “clean and green is the perfect dream” held at GCW Udhampur

UDHAMPUR,TDD, Eco Club of Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur in collaboration with Department of Zoology and Sanskrit under the aegis of IQAC organised Slogan Writing Competition
on the theme- “Clean and green is the perfect dream” followed by a massive cleanliness drive in and around college campus here today.

Principal of the College Prof. (Dr.) Nalini Pathania was the chief Guest on the occasion.

While Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nalini Pathania highlighted the importance of the theme in day-to-day life and the role of students as a reformer in different spheres of life through clean and green initiatives. She congratulated the winners for their utmost vision and creativity. She also applauded the ECO CLUB members and members of
Zoology and Sanskrit department for conducting such a meaningful and relevant programme and advised to keep doing such activities in future.

An intra-college slogan writing was held in which 20 students from different streams participated with great enthusiasm.

Earlier, the Programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr.Sanjeet Kour, HOD Zoology. She highlighted the importance of sustainable practices and lifestyle changes for the betterment of the environment.

The proceedings of the programme were carried out by Dr. Neha Antal, Convenor ECO CLUB. On the onset of the competition, She welcomed the participants as well as other dignitaries on the occasion and briefed them about rules and theme of the competition. 20 students participated in slogan writing competition.

The jury member were Dr. Monika Gupta, Associate Professor
Department of Chemistry and Dr. Sushma Kumari, HOD Dogri.

The Slogans were judged on the basis of relevance to the theme of the event, presentation and creativity. Shagun Atri stood first while Diksha Verma and Ayushi Virangna stood second and third respectively. First consolation was bagged by Sanchal and 2nd Consolation was awarded to Manisha Devi.

All the winners of the competition were awarded certificates of
appreciation by Principal Prof Dr. Nalini Pathania

The programme was also attended by other senior faculty members including Prof. Indu Khajuria, Dr. Kamaldeep Kour, Dr. Sunil Magotra along with number of students.

This programme was followed by a Massive Cleanliness Drive as a part of “ECO CLUB programme” in and around the college campus in which a large number of students actively participated and gave their contribution to the clean lines drive.

This was followed by the valedictory function which comprised of presentation of detailed report and presentation of awards for Slogan writing Competition.

The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Neha Antal Convenor ECO CLUB, Dr Anita Sharma, Assistant Professor Zoology, Prof Pooja Bharti, HoD Geography, Member Eco Club, while the proceeding of the programme were carried out by Dr. Sunil Magotra.

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Prof Om Prakash HOD Sanskrit.TDD
