J&K government dismisses two employees from service, Cite security concerns

TDD Correspondent

Jammu/Srinagar, (TDD): The Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed two employees from service with immediate effect, citing concerns related to the security of the state.

“In separate government orders issued by the General Administration Department, a copy of which lies with the Diplomat, reads, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir has dismissed Zahir Abbas, a teacher in the School Education Department, and Mr. Ab. Rehman Naika, a pharmacist in the Health and Medical Education Department.

It reads, Abbas hailing from Badhat Saroor in Kishtwar, was dismissed under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India. The government cited his activities, which were found to warrant dismissal in the interest of state security, without conducting an inquiry.

Similarly, Mr. Naika, from Qasba Devsar in Kulgam, was dismissed under the same constitutional provision. His activities were deemed to pose a threat to the security of the state, justifying the decision to bypass a formal inquiry. Both dismissals are effective immediately, as per the official government orders.— (TDD)
