Doda,TDD,An accident occurred near Kandhote-Shiva Pul in Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir, leaving three individuals dead on the spot.

Officials said that the incident involved a vehicle that lost control and plunged into a deep gorge, a scenario tragically frequent in the region due to narrow, poorly maintained roads and challenging terrain.

The rescue teams, including local authorities and emergency services, immediately rushed to the scene to retrieve the bodies and provide aid to any survivors. Initial investigations point to a possible combination of driver error and treacherous road conditions as the cause. The victims’ identities are yet to be confirmed.

This tragic event has reignited concerns among residents about the dangerous road network in the mountainous regions of Jammu & Kashmir. Despite repeated calls for improvements, including proper road maintenance and installation of safety measures like barriers and signage, accidents remain alarmingly frequent in the area.

Efforts are underway to investigate the cause of the accident thoroughly, and locals continue to demand that the government prioritize road safety to prevent such recurring tragedies. This accident is another grim reminder of the urgent need for infrastructure development in this vulnerable area.(TDD)
