Police arrests four drug peddlers in Srinagar; Heroin, other substances recovered

Srinagar, (TDD) Police in Srinagar today arrested four drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A Police party of Ram Munshi Bagh police station intercepted three suspicious persons at a checkpoint established near Chest Diseases Hospital Dalgate, Srinagar.They have been identified as Yawar Bilal son of Bilal Ahmad Karni resident of Abi Buchwara, Maroof Bilal Kolu son of Bilal Ahmad Kolu resident of Indranagar, Srinagar and Shoib Hilal Lawaye son of Hilal Ahmad Lawaye resident of Drugjan, Dalgate. During search, 9.6 grams of Heroin was recovered from their possession.

Meanwhile, at another checkpoint established at Sozeith Bund, a Police team arrested a drug peddler identified as Abid Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Rasool Bhat resident of Sozeith Goripora. During search, 430 grams of Charas and 750 grams of Bhang Powder concealed in a polythene bag was recovered from his possession.

Regarding the incidents, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been taken up.

J&K cautions those engaged in drug dealings that law would catch them up sooner than anticipated and every offender will face full force of law. (TDD)
