Advocate Nirmal Kotwal Elected President of JKHCBAJ in 2024 Elections

Jammu, TDD,The Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ) has elected its new leadership in the 2024 elections, marking a significant moment for the legal fraternity in the Jammu.

Advocate Nirmal Kotwal emerged victorious as the President, securing an overwhelming majority of 1,031 votes, outpacing his competitors.

This year’s elections saw a commendable voter turnout, with 1,906 votes cast and 1,894 counted. The results reflect the trust and confidence placed in the leadership and vision of the newly elected representatives.

The new office bearers of JKHCBAJ are:

President: Advocate Nirmal Kotwal (1,031 votes)

Vice-President: Advocate Baldev Singh, who garnered 990 votes, defeating his nearest rivals Daljeet Manhas (327 votes) and Deepika Mahajan (548 votes).

General Secretary: Advocate Pardeep Majotra, who received 749 votes, surpassing Arjun Singh Pathania (547 votes) and Himanshu Sharma (443 votes).

Joint Secretary: Advocate Anshu Mahajan, who won decisively with 1,215 votes, outpacing Rahul Sharma, who received 672 votes.

Treasurer/Cashier: Advocate Rahul Aggarwal, who secured 1,170 votes, defeating Atul Sharma (360 votes) and Jameel Choudhary (375 votes).

The election process was closely contested in several categories, showcasing the vibrant democratic spirit of the legal community. The new team is expected to bring energy and innovation to address the needs of the bar association and strengthen the legal profession in the region.

Advocate Nirmal Kotwal, in his victory speech, expressed gratitude to the members of the association for their overwhelming support and pledged to work tirelessly for the welfare of the legal fraternity. He emphasized the importance of unity, professionalism, and service to society as core principles that will guide the new leadership.

This new chapter for JKHCBAJ comes with immense opportunities and challenges, and the elected body carries the responsibility of fostering growth and inclusivity within the association.
