Srinagar, TDD, A potential disaster was prevented today when an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was discovered and safely disarmed by a Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on the Srinagar-Baramulla National Highway in Palhallan, Baramulla district.
Officials told the Diplomat that a joint team of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF, and SSB Battalion swiftly identified the device near Pattan. After the IED was successfully neutralized, normal traffic resumed smoothly on the highway.
The quick response by the forces ensured that no harm was caused. A case has been filed at Police Station Pattan and authorities are investigating the source and those responsible for planting the device. (TDD)
