Students participate in voter awareness program in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sep 12 (KNO): Hundreds of students from different private and government schools Thursday took part in ‘Mega Voter Awareness Program’ held at Jhelum river front in Raj Bagh.

The event was organized by district election authority Srinagar.

Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), several students, who are also the first time voters, expressed excitement to cast their ballot.

Shehla Ishtiyaq, a student of Amar Singh College said Kashmir has seen bad situations and she is very optimistic about the upcoming assembly elections wherein she expects a positive outcome.

She said that she is going to cast her vote for the first time. “I am very excited to cast my vote and I will cast the ballot for the betterment of students of Kashmir.”

Areeba, a student of government girls higher secondary school Chanapora, said that the awareness program related to election is must, while people shall choose their candidate wisely.

“Although, I am not a voter yet but I believe that even one vote can bring a positive change,” she said—(KNO)
