No alarming situation along IB in Jammu, BSF keeping close watch on illegal crossings: IG D K Boora

Jammu, TDD,Inspector General of the Border Security Force (BSF) Jammu, D.K. Boora, reassured the public today that there is no cause for concern along the International Border (IB) in Jammu. He emphasized that the BSF is maintaining a constant and vigilant watch to prevent illegal entries, particularly from Bangladeshi nationals, and has put a specialized strategy in place to safeguard the border’s integrity.

In a detailed press conference marking the 60th anniversary of the BSF, Boora acknowledged the force’s remarkable evolution from a modest 25 battalions to 193 today, cementing its position as one of the world’s most capable and efficient border security forces. He highlighted the BSF’s pivotal role not just in safeguarding the nation during peacetime but also in ensuring its security during times of conflict, a responsibility that has shaped its reputation as a formidable force in global border defense.

“Over the past six decades, the BSF has transformed into a global leader in border security,” Boora said. “We are fully equipped with the latest technological advancements, including state-of-the-art anti-drone systems, which are essential in addressing modern security threats. Our close collaboration with the Indian Army along the Line of Control (LoC) plays a crucial role in preventing any potential breaches, including those related to drone droppings.”

Boora further emphasized that the BSF is well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges posed by emerging security threats. The force is not only equipped with cutting-edge gadgets but also relies on strategic planning and coordination to counter various forms of border intrusion. “We have built a robust system to address every challenge, and our commitment to ensuring the security of Jammu’s borders is unwavering,” he added.

The IG reassured the public that the BSF’s dedication, professionalism, and use of modern technologies, such as surveillance systems and anti-drone equipment, ensure that it remains ahead of potential threats. The BSF’s personnel continue to guard India’s sovereignty with resilience, readiness, and an unwavering sense of duty.

As the BSF celebrates six decades of exceptional service, it remains committed to evolving with the times, addressing new security concerns, and continuing its mission to protect the borders of India.
