Jammu: TDD,An eminent sociologist, Prof. Jayaram Panda, former Professor,
Dean and Founding Head, Department of Sociology, University of Jammu, has passed away at Bhubaneswar in Odissa, following prolonged illness.
He was a former President of Jammu University Teachers Association (JUTA), former Treasurer of Indian Sociological Society and former President North West Indian Sociological Society.
The professors, scholars and students have termed his passing away as a great loss to the Sociology.
They recalled his contribution to the society and education system.
To pay their respects to the departed soul, the Department of Sociology, University of Jammu has decided to hold a condolence meeting on December 17, 2024 at around 12: 30 pm.TDD
