Jammu :TDD,Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah announced cancelling his scheduled programmes in Jammu in order to stay put in Srinagar for the next week as severe cold conditions were affecting the Kashmir valley. The reason is that the region has faced problems with water and electricity supply due to extreme weather conditions.
Abdullah made the announcement on X (Twitter), saying he would personally monitor the situation and oversee the functioning of critical departments, especially the power supply issues, during this challenging period. He expressed regret over any inconvenience caused to event organizers in Jammu due to the cancellations, stating that he would make up for the affected programmes in the future.
Abdullah, who is returning today from Jaisalmer confirmed that he will reach Srinagar tomorrow morning and begin monitoring the situation. This decision signifies the gravity of the cold spell, affecting crucial services in the Kashmir valley, and underlines that this weather demands immediate attention to the problems of its residents during such a biting winter season.TDD
