Security forces trap Top Commander, two other terrorists in Mendhar, Poonch, Ops on

Mendhar (Poonch), (TDD): Security forces on Sunday said they have trapped a bunch of terrorists in Pathana Teer village in Mendhar, Poonch district, following an intelligence input, officials said.

They said, an encounter between the terrorists and security forces started, with establishment of contact and heavy firice ongoing.

Officials said the exchange of fire began around 8:40 PM yesterday when the group was intercepted by security personnel. “Though no causality has been reported so far, heavy firing from both sides continued into the night,” they said.

They added, more security forces have been deployed and the entire area has been cordoned off. The far-flung village from LoC has been put on high alert.

In the meanwhile, sources said one of trapped terrorists is a top commander, while more ore details are awaited.—(TDD)
