Udhampur :TDD,Rich tributes were paid to martyr Const. Raj Kumar , who attained martyrdom in an terrorist attack at Jammu Railway Station in the Year 2004.In this regard a function was organised at Police Martyr Memorial Chowk , domail Udhampur and the huge gathering including family members along with police remembered Constable Raj Kumar , who gave the supreme sacrifice of his life in the line of duty on this day during the year 2004 with the remarks that we must never forget the Police personnel who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Jammu & Kashmir Police is committed to always remember sacrifices of their martyrs and do everything to keep their families in comfort and likewise, every year, observed his martyr day, today i.e 02 January 2004. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Saloni Rai , Police Officers as well as huge gathering of respectable citizens paid rich tribute to the Martyr Raj Kumar.The family members of the martyr Constable Raj Kumar were also present on the occasion
The function was attended by ADC Udhampur, ASP Udhampur, Dy SP Headquarters Udhampur , and SHO Udhampur were also present on the occasion along with the family members of the martyr and other large number of respectable citizens of the society.
Its need to be mentioned here that on 2nd January 2024 Terrorist wearing Army uniform attacked the crowded Jammu Railway station. Constable Raj Kumar of the Railway Police was attained Martyrdom as he challenged the terrorists.The terrorists hurled grenades and fired indiscriminately at platforms one and two, where passengers were boarding the Shalimar Express.TDD
