Kishtwar, TDD ,The Bar Association Kishtwar unequivocally condemns the recent attack on a fellow lawyer in Jammu, terming it a cowardly and shameful act. Such incidents are not only an assault on the individual lawyer but also an attack on the dignity of the entire legal fraternity and the principles of justice that they uphold.

In a statement issued today, the President of the Bar Association Kishtwar Advocate Sheikh Nasir has expressed deep concern over the increasing threats faced by lawyers in the region. “This heinous attack is a grim reminder of the vulnerabilities faced by members of the legal profession, who dedicate their lives to upholding the law and defending the rights of the people. The incident is highly condemnable and raises serious questions about the safety and security of legal professionals,” he stated.

The Bar Association stands in solidarity with the victim and their family during this difficult time. The Association demands that the authorities conduct a swift and impartial investigation to bring the culprits to justice. Such acts of violence cannot and should not be tolerated in a civilized society.

President Bar Association Kishtwar Advocate Sheikh Nasir further emphasized that it is the duty of the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of lawyers, who are an integral part of the judicial system. He urged the administration to take immediate measures to prevent such incidents in the future, including enhancing security measures for legal professionals, particularly those handling sensitive cases.
Meanwhile, Association has appealed to the legal fraternity across Jammu and Kashmir to unite against such acts of intimidation and violence.

“The legal profession cannot function under the shadow of fear. We will not be deterred by such cowardly acts and will continue to fight for justice and the rule of law,” the President added.TDD
