Poonch, TDD,In continuation of drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse, Jammu and Kashmir Police in District Poonch held one person and recovered heroin like substance from his possession.
A team of Police Station Poonch while on patrolling duty in Poonch city area intercepted a suspicious pedestrian . On questioning the person he disclosed his identity as Sarabjeet Singh S/O Manjeet Singh R/O Azad Mohalla Poonch District Poonch. During the process of checking 5.84 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of the above named person.
In this regard, case FIR No.03/2025 under relevant Sections of NDPS Act got registered in Police Station Poonch and the above named person was taken into police custody.The recovered contraband was seized following all necessary legal formalities.The investigation is ongoing to uncover the entire network and establish backward and forward linkages.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Poonch emphasized the department’s commitment to taking strict action against individuals involved in drug trafficking, bovine smuggling, and other criminal activities. He also urged the public to extend their cooperation in eradicating these social evils.TDD
