After Poonch, Gunfight Erupts in JK’s Kathua

Udhampur, Sept 15 (TDD):  A fierce gun battle broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Nuknali Bani area of Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.

Officials said that terrorists ambushed a security forces search party in the Nuknali area of Bani. As troops approached the suspected location, they were met with heavy gunfire, which was returned in kind. This is the second encounter in Jammu region in a day. An encounter is already underway at Gujjar Patti, Poonch. 

Intelligence reports indicate that two to three terrorists are believed to be cornered in the area. Additional reinforcements have been deployed to the encounter site to prevent the terrorists from escaping.

Security forces are tightening the cordon to neutralize the militants.(TDD)
