Srinagar, (TDD): In a bid to strengthen legislative practices and enhance the capabilities of elected representatives, Jammu and Kashmir’s Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will participate in a comprehensive three-day orientation program starting tomorrow at the Jammu Assembly Complex. The program, designed to improve their conduct and foster essential skills for effective governance, will be led by experts from PRIDE New Delhi.

“This initiative is an important step towards empowering our legislators with the necessary tools to better serve the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” said the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Abdur Rahim Rathe told Diplomat Digital. “By enhancing their understanding of legislative processes and honing their skills, we are ensuring that our elected representatives can contribute more effectively to the state’s progress.”

The training sessions are set to cover crucial aspects of legislative work, public engagement, and the intricacies of lawmaking. By focusing on the development of both personal and professional skills, this orientation program aspires to empower the MLAs to better serve the public and contribute to the UT’s progress.

The involvement of renowned experts underscores the importance of such training in ensuring that the legislators are not only well-versed in procedural knowledge but also equipped to address the complex challenges of governance (TDD).
