Anantnag, (TDD): The South Kashmir Police took a major leap in modern law enforcement as DIG South Kashmir Range Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo inaugurated an advanced Dog Kennel facility at District Police Lines, Anantnag.
This state-of-the-art facility is designed to enhance the operational capabilities of police dogs in areas such as crime detection, search-and-rescue missions, and explosives detection.
Speaking at the inauguration, DIG Matoo underlined the significance of canine units in modern policing. “This facility represents our commitment to adopting innovative tools and techniques to ensure public safety and operational efficiency,” he remarked.
SSP Anantnag Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy applauded the efforts of the team involved in setting up the kennel and emphasized the department’s focus on integrating advanced technologies and resources to strengthen law enforcement practices.
The event witnessed participation from senior police officials, including SP Headquarters Shri Sajad Ahmad, DySP Headquarters Shri Mohammad Ayoub, and DySP DAR Shri Rouf Baba.
A live demonstration by the trained canine unit was the highlight of the event, showcasing their expertise in tracking, explosives detection, and assisting investigations. The performance received wide appreciation and reaffirmed the enhanced readiness of the police force.
