A Hero Remembered: CEC Leads Visit to Likir to Honour Lt. Chhering Motup, Ashoka Chakra

Leh,DD: Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, along with DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Romil Singh Donk and Commandant Ladakh Scouts Kamal Pandey visited Likir today to inspect the site identified for the last rites of Late Lt. Chering Motup, Ashok Chakra.

BJP, State President Tashi Gyalson Kachu, Councillor Likir Smanla Dorjey, SDM Gurmet Namgail, other officials from administration, army and political, Nambardar of Likir, BJP, Mandal President and relatives of the martyr were also present.

Standing at the chosen site, the CEC called for dignified and honourable arrangements befitting a national hero, describing Lt. Chhering Motup as “a symbol of unmatched valour and Ladakh’s eternal pride.”

He emphasized that every detail must reflect the gratitude and reverence of the people for a son who gave his all for the nation.

Earlier in the day, the delegation visited the residence of the late martyr to offer condolences and stand in quiet solidarity with the bereaved family.

CEC personally conveyed deep sympathies, assuring the family of unwavering support from both the Hill Council and the District Administration.DD
