Jammu: DD, In a swift response, Samba Police on Tuesday arrested the main accused involved in an alleged sacrilegious act in the Koulpur area of Vijaypur Tehsil, District Samba.
The accused has been identified as Manjeet Singh, a resident of Koulpur, Vijaypur.
Following the incident, police teams swiftly took him into custody to prevent any law and order disturbance and to uphold communal harmony in the area.
DIG Jammu-Kathua-Samba Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, appealed to the Sikh community and the general public to maintain peace and cooperate with the police.
“The law has taken its course. We urge everyone not to fall prey to rumours on social media and to trust the ongoing investigation,” the DIG said, adding that security has been further tightened in sensitive zones to ensure stability and prevent any untoward incident. (KNC)
