Kargil, August 14, 2025: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho today visited the Main Market of Kargil Town and surrounding areas and conducted an extensive assessment of the preparations for the upcoming Chehlum-E-Hussaini (Arbaeen) processions in Kargil Town.
The ADC was accompanied by the concerned district officers, including Headquarter Assistant to DC Kargil, District Social Welfare Officer/Assistant Director, Food & Civil Supplies; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee; Ex.En. R&B-II,DSP, Headquarter; DSP,Traffic; besides representatives of Health, PHE, Horticulture and officials from various line departments.
ADC Kacho visited medical camp sites to be established at key locations including New Van Stand, Islamia School Kargil, Old Taxi Stand, Hussaini Park, and Inqalab Manzil (Qatilgah Hussaini) where he took a detailed assessment of various works and arrangements.
The ADC directed passed instructions to ensure availability of all medical facilities including medicines, sufficient bedding and other medical necessities at the camps.
He also directed that continuous electricity should be supplied to the camps and installation of fans be ensured apart from the need for deployment of adequate number of health professionals at the designated camps.
Kacho also directed officials to ensure cleanliness and sanitation on the routes of the procession and to establish the Help Desks at Old Van stand.
Further, the Tourism Department was directed to take responsibility of the refreshment for officers on duty.
The ADC was informed that to enhance the comfort of mourners, water sprinklers will be placed at eight (8) designated spots along the route of Arbaeen processions by Horticulture and Agriculture Departments in coordination with the PHE Department.
He also directed the PHE Department for placing adequate number of water tankers on the route of the procession.
The ADC instructed that coordinated efforts related to traffic management be made and that the new van stand premises be cleared at the earliest possible time.DD
