ADGP Jammu zone reviews CCTNS implementation

Jammu:TDD, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, today chaired a high-level meeting to review the implementation of the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) in police stations and supervisory offices across the zone.

The meeting was attended by district SSPs and CCTNS staff of the ZPHQ, Jammu.

The ADGP emphasized the importance of effective utilization of CCTNS in modern policing and directed officers to ensure proper data entry and updating in the system. During the review meeting, the ADGP laid stress on the data quality to ensure accurate and timely data entry to ensure the reliability of information.

He also took stock of the system utilization to ascertain effective use of CCTNS features for investigation, tracking, and analysis of crime data. The meeting also addressed bottlenecks such as connectivity issues, resource constraints, and gaps in user proficiency.

Training and capacity building for police personnel to enhance their skills in using CCTNS and timely resolution of technical issues and glitches to ensure smooth functioning of the system were also discussed threadbare. Actionable solutions were proposed to address these challenges, ensuring uninterrupted system functioning.

The ADGP directed officers to prioritize the use of CCTNS in daily policing activities and leverage its potential to enhance efficiency and transparency. He also stressed the importance of data security and privacy in handling sensitive information.

By effectively utilizing CCTNS, the Jammu zone districts aim to modernize operations and provide better services to the public.TDD
