Kishtwar,(DD)In the aftermath of the massive landslide that struck the Patranki area, cutting off the crucial Kishtwar–Paddar road and halting the Machail Mata Yatra, the local administration has shifted 14 affected families to safer locations.

Tehsildar Nagseni, Muhammad Rafi, confirmed that immediate relief efforts are being carried out to ensure the safety and well-being of those impacted. “We have shifted 14 families so far, and arrangements are being made to provide shelter, food, and other essential support. The administration is fully committed to the needs of the affected people,” he said.

The landslide has not only disrupted daily life in the region but also severely impacted religious tourism, as the Machail Yatra remains suspended until further notice.

Restoration work continues despite challenging weather and difficult terrain, with officials closely monitoring the situation. The administration is urging residents and pilgrims to stay updated through official channels and avoid traveling through the affected zone until conditions improve.(DD)
