Leh, DD: The Administrative Secretary of the Cooperative Department, UT Ladakh, Bhupesh Chaudhary, chaired the monthly review meeting of the Cooperative Department at the Civil Secretariat, Leh.
The meeting included a comprehensive discussion on the celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives (IYC) and plans for its observance in Ladakh. The Secretary directed officials to formulate annual action plan and a calendar of events and activities for the celebration of IYC in Ladakh. He instructed the Additional Registrar, Cooperatives to incorporate the IYC logo in official letterheads and emails.
Emphasizing the importance of publicity and media coverage, the Secretary directed officials to ensure widespread awareness about cooperative department initiatives under IYC.
Additionally, he instructed the Additional Registrar, Cooperatives, Ladakh, to nominate a dedicated nodal officer to oversee the smooth execution of IYC-related events. He also emphasized that all events organized by the Cooperative Department should align with the IYC theme.
Additional Registrar, Cooperative Department, UT Ladakh, Sajjad Qadri, presented a detailed review, covering key areas such as Monthly PPT submission to the Ministry of Cooperations, Progress under MPACs, Formation of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Course of action for defunct Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and Computerization of the Office of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS).
The Secretary instructed the Additional Registrar to task Assistant Registrars (ARCs) of Cooperatives with achieving set targets under various cooperative schemes. He also directed officials to coordinate with NABARD for training programs for PACS members. Furthermore, the ARC, Ladakh, was asked to prepare a draft PPT presentation for the upcoming meeting with the Ministry of Cooperations on March 12.
The meeting was attended by Additional Registrar, Cooperative Department, UT Ladakh; Under Secretary-to-Secretary Cooperative Department; Deputy Registrar, Cooperative Department, Leh and Assistant Registrars Cooperative Department, Leh and Kargil.
