Sopore, (DD) Srinagar MP and senior National Conference leader Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has triggered fresh political speculation after signaling the possibility of launching an independent political platform focused on integrity and public responsibility.
Addressing a public gathering at Dak Bungalow Sopore on Friday, Ruhullah remarked, “I am in search of people who will walk alongside me, who will stand up for credibility and work towards establishing accountability in the system.”
While he refrained from making any formal declaration, his comments hinted at a potential break from the traditional party structure and the laying of groundwork for a new political movement.
Notably, no members of the National Conference’s Sopore unit were present at the event, further fuelling talk of a growing rift between Ruhullah and the party leadership.
