Srinagar,(DD): In a significant political development, former Wachi MLA Aijaz Mir has rejoined the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The move was warmly welcomed by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, who described his return as a reaffirmation of the party’s core values and vision.
Welcoming Mir back into the fold, Mehbooba Mufti shared on social media, “After many ups and downs, it was heartening to welcome Aijaz Mir back home. Our shared journey has seen its share of challenges, but I am hopeful we will walk forward with renewed purpose.”
Mir, known for his strong grassroots engagement and advocacy on youth issues, expressed his gratitude for the reception. “I am honored to return to the PDP family and remain committed to serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir with renewed resolve,” he stated.
The development is seen as a strategic boost for the PDP, especially in South Kashmir, where the party is working to strengthen its base and reinvigorate public engagement. Party leaders believe Mir’s return will enhance outreach efforts and contribute to the PDP’s broader agenda of inclusive growth and democratic empowerment(DD).
