Jammu, DD: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has congratulated Air India Express for launching a new flight on the Hindon-Jammu-Hindon sector, providing added convenience for passengers.
In a letter addressed to the Airport Manager, Air India Express, Jammu, AAI Airport Director Sanjeev Kumar Garg has proposed the extension of this flight to Udhampur. The request comes after Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble MoS-PMO, highlighted the necessity of extending the flight route to accommodate passengers from Udhampur, J&K.
As per the letter, many passengers from the region have approached Dr. Jitendra Singh, requesting direct air connectivity between Udhampur and Delhi via Jammu. Given that Udhampur hosts a major Indian Army and Air Force base, the proposed extension is expected to benefit both military personnel and civilians.
The AAI has urged Air India Express to consider this extension, citing strong potential for the route and improved connectivity for passengers. The request has been forwarded to relevant authorities, including Air India HQ, for further action.
This development is seen as a significant step in improving air connectivity for the Jammu and Udhampur regions, facilitating easier and faster travel for residents and defense personnel alike.DD
