Airlift of Teachers to Schools Post-Snowfall

Diplomat Correspondent

Leh, DD: In a significant step to ensure uninterrupted education, the Indian Air Force, at the request of LAHDC, has successfully initiated airlift operations to transport teachers to schools that remain inaccessible due to heavy snowfall. A flight from Leh to Lingshed carried fifteen passengers, including one infant, while the return flight from Lingshed to Leh transported three passengers, including a doctor and teachers. The move follows the official reopening of schools in the region after the winter break.

The airlift operation, organized by the local administration in collaboration with the Indian Air Force, will ensure that educators are safely transported to their designated schools. Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, appreciated the the Indian Air Force, the liaison officer, Attaullah Khan and the entire team for their prompt facilitation.

The administration has also been working on clearing major roads and snowbound paths for future ground access, while continuing to monitor the weather conditions in anticipation of any additional challenges. This airlift program is expected to run until all schools are fully operational across the region.

As Ladakh emerges from winter, the commitment to education remains steadfast, and this airlift operation plays a crucial role in ensuring that no student is left behind.DD
