Altaf Bukhari urges Centre to provide relief package for natural calamity victims in J&K

Srinagar, DD, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday urged the central government to announce a comprehensive relief package for those who suffered heavy losses in Jammu and Kashmir due to the recent natural calamities.

In a statement issued here, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said, “People have suffered extensive losses to property, crops, and vehicles, along with the tragic deaths of several individuals, due to recent cloudbursts, floods, flash floods, relentless heavy rains, and landslides across various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.”

He added, “The scale of losses is so severe that it has become imperative for the Union government to intervene and ensure adequate compensation for the affected people. I urge the central government to announce a comprehensive relief package for the victims of recent natural calamities in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari further said, “People from all walks of life — including farmers, orchardists, and those in the tourism sector — have faced devastating losses. Thousands of families have had their homes severely damaged by the floods. It is imperative for the Cen to provide prompt and effective assistance to the affected people. ”DD
