Ganderbal, (DD)A 69-year-old Amarnath Yatra pilgrim from Bengaluru, Karnataka, passed away on Tuesday after falling unconscious near the Baltal base camp in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
Officials said the deceased, identified as R. S. Manjunath, son of the late R. Shivaiah, collapsed near the vehicle parking area. He was promptly taken to the Base Hospital at Baltal, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and necessary medico-legal formalities have been initiated.(DD)
