Amit leads Blood Donation drive alongwith Cooperation Minister in Mizoram

Aizawl, Mizoram, DD, Amit Sharma, Secretary to Government, Cooperation & ICT Departments, Government of Mizoram today led a special blood donation drive in the capital city of Mizoram alongwith Cooperation Minister P.C Vanlalruata , which is as a part of the ongoing International Year of Cooperation (IYC) events here.

During his short but inspiring address to the audience during the drive, Secretary Cooperation Mizoram Amit Sharma appreciated the efforts of RCS Office in organising this noble-cum-novel initiative within a short duration of time, as a part of ongoing IYC 2025 celebrations all across the globe. Amit emphasised that similar kind of camps should be replicated in all districts of Mizoram with active participation from Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society members in it, so that many precious lives can be saved due to this donation drive all across the state.

Amit Sharma also shared that this drive has reminded him of his college and university days in J&K wherein he used to organise and lead in voluntary blood donation camps and himself used to lead many such drives while expressing that there cannot be a better feeling than donating blood to save crucial lives of others.

Cooperation Minister P.C Vanlalruata in his speech, being the chief guest on the occasion, mentioned that this is inherent in Mizo culture to donate and help the cause of others which is clearly reflected in today’s blood donation camp organised a part of ongoing IYC activities in Mizoram, which shall motivate other states also to replicate this noble act for human well being.

Minister Cooperation accompanied by Secretary Amit Sharma took a round of blood donation camp area and interacted with several blood donors before leaving and complemented them for taking lead in registering themselves for such a noble cause to save the precious lives of others.

RCS Mizoram John L.T Sanga while expressing his gratitude to the dignitaries for their presence, assured that many such innovative initiatives under the visionary leadership of Minister and Secretary, Cooperation Department shall be organised in future which include the the recently held were events like Sapling Plantation Drives, Walkathon and Essay Competitions in the ongoing IYC 2025.

The team of doctors present here also explained on the occasion that Blood Donation is a very safe process and the donated blood recoups and recovers well within 24 hours of donation and it can indeed help in saving priceless human lives.

This special drive for blood donation under IYC was organised in the complex of Registrar Cooperative Societies Headquarters located at Zarkawt in Aizawl wherein an exclusive team from Civil Hospital was invited for the said purpose. About hundred donors got registered for this special blood donation drive and a special enthusiasm was seen amongst the youngsters of Mizoram to donate blood in this camp.DD
