Srinagar, (DD)Union Home Minister Amit Shah has strongly condemned the brutal terror attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, pledging decisive action against those behind the act. He is expected to arrive in Srinagar by 8 PM today to chair an emergency security review meeting.
Expressing deep anguish, Shah stated, “Deeply pained by the cowardly attack on tourists in Pahalgam. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The perpetrators of this heinous act will face the harshest consequences. We will not rest until justice is served.”
He further noted that he had briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the developments and held a virtual meeting with senior officials of the security and intelligence establishments to assess the situation.
“Heading to Srinagar shortly to lead a comprehensive review with all security agencies,” Shah confirmed.
Heightened security measures are being put in place across the Union Territory, as the Centre prepares for a coordinated crackdown on those responsible for targeting civilians and threatening the region’s peace and tourism-driven economy.(DD)
