Poonch : DD, In a significant outreach initiative, the Indian Army conducted an interactive session with Panch/ Sarpanch and influential persons from Area of Responsibility of Company Operating Base Dhargaloon to enhance security and safety measures in rural areas by their cooperation and support. Local Leaders from Village Malikpur, Rehllan, Navni, Theri and Panakha participated in meeting. The discussion focused over developing better coordination between locals and the Indian Army, joint efforts to strengthen the rural security, healthcare and education. Local Leaders were encouraged to create awareness on National Defense and Importance of Security at the grassroots level.
They were also encouraged to build Local Intelligence Network to help the army in maintaining Security, Peace and Harmony in the area. Local Leaders also discussed empowerment of rural skill and lifestyle. They also appreciated various projects like Medical Camp, Educational Lectures, Resource Sharing and Physical Training of Youth and requested for continuation of such efforts. This meeting helped in bridging the gap between Indian Army and the Locals. The overall goal was to ensure that both the Army and Village Leadership work in Harmony to promote peace, development and well-being in rural areas.DD
