Anantnag Police Attaches Property Worth Rs 1 Cr Belonging to Notorious Drug Peddler

Anantnag, (DD): In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, Anantnag Police has attached property belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, reinforcing its ongoing campaign against the drug menace in the region.

According to an official police statement, a double-storeyed residential house built over 5 marlas of land and owned by Peer Iftikar Hussain, a resident of Hutmurah, Mattan, has been attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act. The action was carried out by Police Station Mattan in connection with FIR No. 103/2024. The property is estimated to be worth around ₹1 crore.

This move is part of Anantnag Police’s intensified efforts to dismantle drug networks and curb the flow of narcotics in the district.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to taking strict legal action against those involved in drug trafficking and urged citizens to report any drug-related activities or suspicious behavior in their localities.
