Diplomat Correspondent

Anantnag, (DD)In response to the tragic terror attack that killed 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam, the Anantnag Police have announced a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh for anyone who provides information leading to the identification or capture of the terrorists responsible for this brutal assault.

The announcement came as part of ongoing efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. The attack, which occurred on April 22, shocked the nation and raised concerns over security in the region. Authorities are urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation.

A police spokesperson emphasized that the reward will be given anonymously, ensuring the safety and confidentiality of informants. “We are committed to tracking down those responsible for this heinous act, and we believe the support of the public is crucial to achieving that,” the spokesperson said.

The police have assured that all tips will be treated with the utmost seriousness and confidentiality, with investigators working around the clock to gather leads. Local law enforcement has also heightened security in the region, with additional patrols and measures designed to prevent any further attacks.

The attack has prompted widespread condemnation from both political leaders and local communities, with many calling for stronger actions to ensure the safety of civilians. The Jammu and Kashmir Police are urging anyone with information, no matter how small it may seem, to step forward.

As the investigation progresses, the focus remains on bringing those responsible to justice, and the announcement of the reward is seen as a crucial step in that direction.(DD)
