Anantnag:DD, In a major crackdown against narcotics trade, Anantnag Police have attached immovable properties worth around ₹66 Lakhs belonging to a notorious father-son duo involved in drug trafficking in Bijbehara.
Police spokesperson in a statement issued here, Anantnag Police have attached properties worth approximately ₹66 Lakhs belonging to two notorious drug peddlers, a father-son duo in the Bijbehara area of District Anantnag, it reads.
Police Station Bijbehara had earlier registered FIR No. 167/2025 U/S 8/21 of the NDPS Act against one Mohd Saleem Dar alias Sahib Matto, S/o Abdul Rasheed Dar, R/o Tulkhan, for his involvement in illicit drug trafficking.
During the course of investigation, it also came to light that his father, Abdul Rasheed Dar, had already been booked in FIR No. 113/2025 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of the same police station, it reads.
Investigations revealed that the duo had amassed wealth and acquired immovable properties l, a double-storey residential house and a single-storey commercial shopping complex in Village Tulkhan, through proceeds of illegal narcotics trade.
Following legal procedures and based on concrete evidence, both properties have been formally seized and attached under Sections 68-E and 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, it reads.
This action marks a significant milestone in the Anantnag Police’s sustained campaign against drug trafficking. The district police reiterate their zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related crimes and remain committed to eradicating this menace from society, reads the statement. (KNC)
