Kargil: DD, Animal Husbandry Department, Drass in collaboration with State Bank of India, Branch Drass organised an awareness program on financial assistant to farmers today at Drass Sub-Division.
The program started with a speech by Zakir Hussain, Branch Manager, SBI Drass who gave a detailed presentation about the schemes of different types of financial assistance available for farmers.
Block Veterinary Officer, Amin appraised the issues faced by the existing loan availing beneficiaries.
Mohd Ali, faculty member of Rural Self-Employment Training Institute Kargil (SBI RSETI) highlighted the importance of self-employment and encouraged the participants to enroll in skill development programs. In addition, credit linkages scheme like Mudra and SHG were also briefed during the awareness session.
The program was attended by the Councilor Upper Drass, Mr. Abdul Samad, Councilor Lower Drass, Mr. Abdul Wahid, nambardars of sub division, local people and officials from Animal Husbandry Department.
Both the Councilors thanked the branch manager, Zakir Hussain and BVO Mr. Amin for organising such a fruitful event and requested to organise such events in every village so that maximum benefits could be availed from the schemes.DD
