Leh,DD, Tsering Lhanzes, a well known children’s book author, illustrator, and animation filmmaker from Sumur, Nubra Valley met with Chairman/CEC,LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson, to discuss her creative journey and upcoming projects.
Tsering, who holds a Master’s degree in Animation Film Design from the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, shared details about her debut book, Acho Nomor and the Yak, which she both wrote and illustrated. She also talked about her work on Shan: Tales from the Himalayas and several animated short films like Bungbu Paley, Rebopa, and Taar, which won the Short Film Competition at The Himalayan Film Festival.
She also apprised CEC about her upcoming animation studio, Rhungs Studio, which will focus on storytelling through films, illustrations, children’s books, and comics, all inspired by Ladakh’s rich culture and traditions.
CEC Tashi Gyalson congratulated Tsering Lhazes on her accomplishments and praised her for her dedication to preserving and promoting Ladakh’s cultural heritage through her work, further emphasising the importance of nurturing local talent.DD
