Leh:DD, Government High School (GHS) Gia celebrated its Annual cum Parents’ Day with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The event was graced by Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Secretary, School Education, UT Ladakh, who attended as the chief guest.
Other dignitaries present included Dy. CEO Karu, Ms. Khalida Parveen, former Councillor Igoo, Sonam Thardot, Goba of Gia village, along with school staff, students, parents, and hundreds of villagers.
The programme began with the inauguration of the newly constructed solarized staff quarters under the Samagra Shiksha scheme by the chief guest.
Welcoming the gathering, Headmaster Jamyang Tsering extended traditional khataks to the dignitaries and presented the annual school report.
In her address, Bhanu Prabha, IAS appreciated the significant improvements and initiatives undertaken by the school.
She assured full support from the department to further enhance the school’s standards.
Dignitaries later distributed prizes and special awards to young achievers, including a newly introduced category recognising exceptional students.
The event concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by the students, showcasing the rich talent and spirit of the school community.DD
