151 OGWs Identified, 24 Put Behind Bars, 3 Foreign Terrorists Neutralised: SSP Naresh Singh
Says 36 Properties of JKNOPs Identified, 18 Attached

Kishtwar: Security forces conducted as many as 1523 Cordon and Search Operations (CASOs) in Kishtwar District as a part of anti-terror operations in 2025.
Speaking to the media persons, SSP Kishtwar, Naresh Singh said that the police remained on the forefront of counter-terrorism operations.
The SSP was accompanied by Additional SP Kishtwar Pardeep Guria, SDPO Kishtwar Headquarter, Dr Ishan Gupta, and others.
In these operations, he said that three foreign terrorists were neutralised, a total of 151 Over Ground Workers (OGWs) were identified, and 24 of the total OGWs are presently in jails.
“One has been detained under Public Safety Act for terror related activities,” he added.
He informed that the police have also taken lawful action against the J&K Nationals Operating from Pakistan (JKNOPs) who were involved in “terror activities.”
The SSP informed that these JKNOPs had illegally acquired properties. Therefore, the police identified atleast 36 properties and 18 were attached.
He further stated that firm and lawful action was taken against JKNOPs and their illegally acquired properties.
In 2024, the police attached properties of seven JKNOPs and in 2025, 11 such properties were attached.
Referring to the enhanced technology and surveillance, a total CCTV cameras installed in the district i.e., 1831 and 389 CCTV cameras were installed during 2025.
The police conducted verification of 131 passports, SIM vendors, 1093 PVR forms, 1010 service verification.
The SSP Kishtwar explained in detail the efforts of police to control crime, cybercrime, anti-militancy operations, public outreach, preventive actions, verification drives and disaster response.
He said that 438 total cases were registered in 2024, and 381 of them were disposed off, making the disposal percentage up to 86.98 %.
Similarly in the year 2025, he said that the Kishtwar police registered a total of 394 cases, and disposed of around 369 cases, making the disposal of such cases up to 93.65 %.
Referring to cyber crime, he said that the Cyber Police Station Kishtwar achieved notable success with unfolding of financial fraud amount recorded i.e., ₹ 1 Crore 30 lakh, missing mobile phones recovered, 230 approximate value of recovered mobiles i.e., ₹ 50 lakhs.
Meanwhile, 12 NDPS cases were registered and 18 bovine smugglers were arrested. The next year in 2025, he said that the police arrested 34 though 11 persons are still under custody. As many as 27 cases were registered.
He also explained details of police crackdown against the narcotic smuggling and drug peddlers. He said that two persons involved in the drug smuggling have been detained under PIT NDPS.
The police also solved 11 burglary cases in 2024, and 12 were arrested with the recovery of ₹ 4, 00, 000.
In the year 2025, the SSP informed that 19 burglary cases were registered, 36 persons were arrested including 2 burglars were detained under Public Safety Act (PSA).
The police have recovered a total of ₹ 23, 87, 799 recovered, including ₹ 14, 42, 000 recovered in the J&K Bank robbery case at Police Station Dachhan, which was successfully solved.
Referring to the bovine smuggling cases, eight vehicles were seized, and 56 bovines rescued.
In the year 2025, atleast 12 total cases were registered, and 105 bovines were rescued. Awareness programs and public outreach programs in 2025, the SSP said that District Police Kishtwar maintained strong public connect through extensive outreach initiatives including 75 drug awareness programmes, 38 Community Action Programmes (CAPs), including a major cricket tournament with 144 teams and over 1500 players from across Jammu and Kashmir participated.
Atleast 120 PCPG – CSC meetings and 122 Thana Diwas conducted.
The SSP further said that law and order common masses of District Kishtwar have been advised to refrain from circulating any sensitive information/false information on social media platforms which may vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the district.
Further, media personnel have been advised to adhere with the SOPs formulated by the District administration while circulating any news/information.
