Apni Party, its constituent’s to support jailed cleric Sarjan Barkati: Altaf Bukhari

Srinagar, (TDD): Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party chief Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari today announced full support to jailed cleric Sarjan Barkati from Beerwah Assembly constituency in Budgam district.
Talking to reporters, Bukhari said that the Apni Party led by him and all its constituents will support Sarjan Barkati in the upcoming polls. “Directions in this regard have been passed to all rank and file of the party. Apart from that our constituents will also support Sarjan Barkati,” Bukhari said.
Barkati along with his wife is behind the bars in connection with the terror funding case. Barkati earlier had filed his nominations from Zainapora constituency of Shopian where his nomination papers were rejected on the pretext of “lack of oath certificate.” Later, Barkati’s daughter Sugra Barkati filed nomination papers on behalf of her father from Beerwah and Ganderabal Assembly seats. Sugra is also campaigning for her jailed father from both seats— (TDD)
