Leh: TDD,Indian Army commemorated Vijay Diwas with solemn ceremony at the Hall of Fame, Leh, to honour the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. Major General Dinesh Kumar Singh, Sena Medal, Chief of Staff, Fire and Fury Corps led the tribute by laying a wreath.
The ceremony to pay homage to the martyrs was attended by military officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Ranks of Fire and Fury Corps, Air Force Station, Leh and other units located at Leh.
Vijay Diwas is observed every year to commemorate the decisive victory in the Indo Pak War – 1971, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh. The occasion serves as a reminder of the bravery, sacrifice and dedication of the armed forces in safeguarding the nation.
The event concluded with a resolve to uphold the legacy of the war heroes and a commitment to protect the sovereignty of the nation.TDD
