Jammu, (DD): Amid reports circulating in various media outlets about a foiled infiltration attempt and injuries to multiple terrorists in the Poonch-Rajouri sector, the Indian Army has issued a strong clarification stating that no such statement has been made by it.
In a message shared with the media on today, the Army Spokesperson said:
“It has been observed that certain inputs are being circulated suggesting that an infiltration bid was foiled and injuries were caused to terrorists from various groups. Some media houses have even quoted the Army in their reports. I would like to categorically clarify that no such statement has been issued by the Indian Army.”
The spokesperson confirmed that the capture of one individual is correct, but added that other details are still being verified.
The Army has urged all media outlets to refrain from publishing news based on unverified and unauthorised sources, underscoring the importance of responsible and fact-based journalism.
“We urge everyone to wait for official communication to ensure the dissemination of accurate information,” the Army stated.
The clarification comes at a time when tensions along the Line of Control remain high, and misinformation could have serious implications for public perception and security operations(DD)
